Energy StarĀ® – also available in Stainless
My review is for a GE Refrigerator, Model GSH25JFXBB which also comes in Stainless GSH25JFXSS
We got this refrigerator earlier this year, and it is a side-by-side model with an ice maker.
What we liked about this refrigerator was that it was fairly reasonably priced (We spent about $800 for the refrigerator), and it has more space than our previous side-by-side model (about 25 cu).
The negatives on this refrigerator are that sometimes the ice machine spits out too much ice and it overflows into the freezer portion of the refrigerator-even if we turn off the ice maker. Also, the freezer portion is fairly small, but that is to be expected in a side-by-side model, where most of the refrigerator is the refrigerator portion.
Even with the negatives, the refrigerator has held up well and the fact that it was so cost effective outweighs the negatives. A nice feature is that you can set the temperature of both the freezer and refrigerator portion which can make this an energy-efficient model.
It isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty good for what we wanted it for-which is a refrigerator where we didn’t need a lot of freezer space, and the fact that it is energy-efficient is very appealing for saving money on your energy bill.
This model did come in a stainless steel finish, which seems to be popular right now because it gives a kitchen a modern look, but we ended up getting the black color because it fit with the colors of our other appliances, and I think black hides stains better than other colors.
I would rate the refrigerator a 4 out of 5.
